Dean Russell Volpe

Dean Russell "John" Volpe, aged 74, of Grand Rapids, died Friday, January 5, 2007. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Michael and sister, Margaret Smith. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Nancy; children, Joe (Kristin) Volpe, Peggy (Willy Straub) Volpe, Patty Capes, Linda (Pete Sabo) Mefford, John (Denise) Volpe; grandchildren, Brandon, Andrew (Kelsie), Patrick, Jason and Olivia Volpe, Blakely and Linda Ann Jordan, Heather Mefford, Holly and Lilly Sabo-Volpe, Kyle, Corey and Andrew Straub; brothers, twin, Dale "Jim" (Sandy) Volpe, Vince Volpe, Bud Volpe; sisters, Sara Nostrandt, Linda (Leighton Spoors) Frestick, Sherry Huedepohl, Synne Hagist, Jean Bowers, Pam Lewis, Polly Barck; brother-in-law, Richard Smith. John served with the Army during the Korean Conflict. After many years of owning his own lawn care service, he retired to enjoy his last years with his grandchildren and his kitties. Funeral services will be Wednesday 11 AM at the O'Brien-Eggebeen-Gerst Chapel, 3980 Cascade Rd. SE, Rev. John Zwyghuizen of Fellowship Reformed Church, officiating.
