David Raymond

David William Raymond died on February 23, 2016 at age 78. He was born in Bloomington, Illinois, graduated from Bloomington High School with honors, served in the Marine Corps, worked at General Electric, married Judith Ann Kennedy, started college at age 25, and graduated from the University of Illinois with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1969. Dave was very proud that he and both of his sons received U of I degrees in a span of 18 years. His first priority in life was family.

He worked at American Seating Company in Champaign, IL and in Grand Rapids for 28 years as a manager of engineering. He had a primary interest in new product development and held several US patents.

He believed the smartest decision he ever made was marrying Judy, without whose love and support he could not have achieved his life goals. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Judy; his 2 sons, Chris (Rita) of Reston, VA and Craig (Veronica) of Cornelius, OR; and 4 wonderful grandchildren: Kendall, Emma, Dustin and Luke. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held in Bloomington, IL.
