David Kasteline

David Kasteline, age 71 of Grand Rapids, died suddenly on July 13, 2024 at his home. He was a very proud veteran, serving in the Navy during the Vietnam War. David was truly a character. Anyone that knew him would have a story. He enjoyed working in his yard and garden, loved his many dogs and cats from throughout his life, and was a true science-fiction fan. David faced many difficult obstacles in his life. But when he got knocked down he always got back up. He persevered until the end which came very quickly and suddenly. “David Kastel” will be missed!

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary Kay (Wood); daughter, Molly, and fiancé Brandon Corne; brother, Kyle Kasteline; sisters-in-law: Theresa Wood and Pam Wood; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Dan & Terri Wood, James & Roxanne Wood, Ruth & Tim Eggerding; as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
