David John Nitz, age 81 of Grand Rapids and formerly of Madison Heights, Michigan, passed away March 17, 2026.
David was born on October 12, 1944 in Madison Heights to George and Elizabeth (Lentz) Nitz. He was the middle of three boys, joining older brother Jim and younger brother Bob. David was a four sport athlete at Madison Heights High School. He then went to Ferris State University where he made longtime friends with his fraternity brothers.
Following graduation, he returned to Madison Heights where he started his career in Industrial Real Estate sales. In 1997, he moved to Grand Rapids where he continued that career. He enjoyed living near downtown.
David is preceded in death by his two brothers. He is survived by his daughter, Margo Hosch. Interment in Fairplains Cemetery with a private service.
