Charles Henry Langeland, age 94, went to be with his Lord, April 17, 2026. Chuck was born May 27, 1931 in Coopersville to the late Fred Sr. and Winifred (Van Timmeren) Langeland. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Bernice; his son, Scott Langeland; brothers and sisters-in-law, Fred Jr. and Shirley Langeland and Vernon and Phyllis Langeland. Chuck was a longtime member of Alpine Ave Christian Reformed Church and Westend Christian Reformed Church. He was a passionate golfer, traveler and woodworker, but Chuck’s faith and family always came first. He will be greatly missed by his children, Karen Langeland, Julie (Kim) Howe, Dan (Joan) Langeland, Nan (Dale) Meunier, and Becky (Bob) Katsma; daughter-in-law, Brenda Langeland; 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Norma (Bernard) Kloet; special friend, Joan Elzinga; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2026 at 11 AM at Westend Christian Reformed Church, 1015 Westend NW 49504. Friends may visit with Chuck’s family on Wednesday from 6-8 PM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW and beginning at 10 AM Thursday at church. Interment will be in Washington Park Memorial Gardens. Memorials are being suggested to Westend CRC Youth Group, West Side Christian School, or Christian Reformed Conference Grounds.
