ANDERSON – Mr. John Charles “Chuck or Charlie” Anderson age 86, of Grand Rapids, went to be with The Lord on September 11, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents Stuart C, and Mayme Anderson and by his brother, Stuart E, (Margaret). Chuck is survived by his wife of 63 years, Ruth; children David, Daniel and Laurie (George) Tsopanov; granddaughter, Rachel; brother-in-law, Ivan (Barbara) Franson; sister-in-law Ethel (Chuck) Steffey; niece, Linda (Robert) Vader; other nieces and nephews and cousins Chuck was a kind and loving man to everyone who knew him and always put others first. He was a manufacturers‘representative who successfully developed his own food brokerage businesses: Woodland Brokerage and Charlie Anderson Sales Co. in both Michigan and Arizona. He was a lifetime member of First Evangelical Covenant Church with roots going back to the beginning of the church in the 1890’s. He was a graduate of South High School and G.R.J.C. His interests included boating and he loved watching sports, the Cubs being one of his favorites, and he studied the Spanish language with his wife. Also, he was a member of the Swedish Heritage Society. Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, September 18 with visitation at 1:00 p.m. and service at 2:00 p.m., followed by a lunch, at First Evangelical Covenant Church, 1933 Tremont NW, with Rev. Craig Swanson officiating. Contributions in his memory may be made to First Evangelical Covenant Church Mission Fund.
