Charlene Kay Nyeholt, age 82, passed away January 26, 2024. Char was born December 1, 1941 in Grand Rapids to the late Herbert and Johanna (Posthumus) Noordyke. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry Nyeholt; sister, Nancy Sundstrum; in-laws, Art Helms, Don Knott, and Bill Nyeholt. Char attended Spring Lake Presbyterian Church and Chapel by the Sea in Ft. Myers Beach, FL. She will be remembered for her love of wintering in Florida and traveling, she was a sports enthusiast, but most of all she loved her family. She is survived by her children, Todd (Dawn) Nyeholt, Bryan (Carol) Nyeholt, Mari-Jo (Rob) Goebel, Chris-Ann (Darrell) Martini; grandchildren, Andrew (Rebecca) and Brad Nyeholt, Whitney, Trevor and Brooklyn Nyeholt, Spencer (Halea) Goebel, Sydney (Colten) Kropf, Rocco and Ashley Martini; great grandchildren, Luke, Chloe, Ada, Harper, Vivian, Adeline, and Oliver. Char is also survived by her sisters, Barb and Jim Rozelle, and Kathy Knott; in-laws, Nancy Nyeholt, Dave and Sandy Nyeholt, Ruth and Jim Hasper; and many nieces and nephews. Friends may visit with family Monday, January 29th from 5-8 PM and beginning at 10 AM Tuesday. A funeral service will be held, Tuesday, January 30, 2024 at 11 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. A private family interment will be in Spring Lake Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Unity Christian High School, Calvin Christian High School, Northpointe Christian High School or West Side Christian School.
