Calvin Holmes

(Belmont) Mr. Calvin Holmes, age 69, passed away on Sunday, June 25, 2006. Following school, he enlisted in the US Army, serving in Germany. Calvin worked at Baker Auto Parts. He then built his own tow truck and started Holmes Auto Salvage. His family life was important. Calvin is survived by his wife, Judy; daughter, Kelly Holmes and Don Norton of Belmont; son, Calvin Holmes of Grand Rapids; grandchildren, Kelsey, Don, Brandon, and Emily Jo; brothers and sister, Marilyn and Don Burke, Ray and Paulette Holmes, Jerry and Juanita Holmes, Ronald and Judy Holmes, and Danny and Diane Holmes; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gladys Platz, and brother, Paul. The Service for Mr. Holmes will be Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. at Crossroads Wesleyan Church with Pastor Eldon Sanders officiating. Military honors will be under the auspices of the Kent County Veterans Honor Guard with interment in Blythefield Memory Gardens.
