Bonnie Stefans

Bonnie Stefans, age 76 of Grand Rapids, passed away September 7, 2024. Born in Grand Rapids to Henry and Doris Emelander, Bonnie grew up on the West Side where she attended Union High School. She had a natural joy and zest for life which showed in her beautiful smile and laughter. She had a way of effortlessly making friends with her easygoing and free spirited nature. Her genuine love for others showed through her generosity. She loved Jesus and enjoyed anything and everything as long as it involved others: cribbage, tubing, canoeing, backyard parties, and traveling to see her family to name just a few.

She dearly missed her soulmate of 24 years, Danny Solmonson who passed away in December 2023.

Bonnie cherished her family: daughter Kimberly Braniff (Randy dec); grand-daughters (and great-grandchildren) Randi & Preston McKernan (Cody, Alex), Stephanie & Evan Jones (Isla, Brody); sister, Ruth Zylstra (Mort dec); brother, Mark (Jenny) Emelander (Sue dec); nieces and nephews (Linda Verhey dec) as well as the Solmonson Family.
