Robert “Bob” Fox, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on September 22, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of quiet strength and love. Bob was known for his love of the great outdoors, especially his time spent at the lake fishing and boating with family and friends. Bob was peaceful and found joy in the simple pleasures of life like a walk in the woods, a golf cart ride, morel mushroom hunting, or cooking up a fresh batch of fried bluegills.

He loved a great story and was an avid storyteller himself. He enjoyed playing cribbage and the daily New York Times Wordle. He had a zest for life and approached it with optimistic enthusiasm. His boisterous laugh could be heard from any room. He was a family man through and through. He loved family gatherings with good food and spending time with his children and grandson, Ferris.

A graduate of West Catholic High School, Bob worked for Consumers Energy as a lineman, where he retired from in 2011. Diagnosed with leukemia, Bob faced his illness with courage and resilience. Even in his hardest days, Bob fought on for 12 more years.

Those who knew Bob have a story of how he touched their lives, whether through his kindness, his humor, or his steady, dependable presence. Though we grieve his passing, we find peace knowing that Bob is now reunited with his wife and no longer in pain.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Nina; his father, Thomas Fox; mother-in-law, Vera Overholt; and brother-in-law, Steve Overholt.

He is survived by his sons and their wives, Clinton (Elizabeth) Fox and Jason (Jacalyn) Fox; his grandson, Ferris Fox; mother, Mary Ann Fox; sister-in-law, Delores Overholt; as well as nieces and nephews, Erin (Jeremy) Denhof, Matt Overholt and Samantha (Ryan) Post.

A private family gathering will be held to keep things simple and meaningful. In honor of Bob, take a moment to enjoy life’s simple pleasures just as he did.
