Barbara E. See, age 79, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. She was born in the spring of 1942 in Michigan City, Indiana. Barb was preceded in death by her parents Manny and Rita Martin as well as by her husband James See. She is survived by her loving family, her sons, David (Greta) Kolenda, Kevin (Stacey) Kolenda, Michael (Jessica) Kolenda and her Grandchildren Katie, Amie, Victoria, Josh, Mary, Nathan, Owen, and Skylar, and great granddaughters Charlotte Ray and Melanie Storm. She is also survived by her siblings Becky, Kathy, and Mitzi. Barb spent many years in the food industry serving others. She was an avid hockey fan starting with the Grand Rapids Owls, and then continued to follow her sons during their time playing, and finally rooting for the Detroit Red Wings right to the end. Barb was well-known at the games for her cow bell and enthusiasm. She was also an active gardener and never seemed to have enough flowers and lawn ornaments. Barb always had a special place in her heart for dogs and Lollipop was her loyal companion for the final years of her life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Barb’s name to the Humane Society of West Michigan. Per her wishes, Barb will be laid to rest next to her husband Jim in Rosedale Memorial Park following a private memorial service with her family.
