Arnold (Stub) Rhoads, age 88, of Fremont, passed away on Saturday morning in Ann Arbor. He was born on November 10, 1918 in Glenburn, North Dakota to Dyas and Emma Rhoads. Arnold was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. In 1981 he retired from Gerber Products Company, where he was Plant Superintendent. He married Hattie Meeuwenberg of Fremont. She preceded him in death on November 26, 1993. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Clair Rhoads and Glen Rhoads; and one grandson, Cuyler Rhoads Cook. He is survived by his son, Stephen (Gerri) Rhoads of South Lyon; his daughter, Jolayne (Roy) Cook of Fremont; five grandchildren, Craig Rhoads, Stephanie (David) Rush, Troy (Sharra) Cook, Kori (Robert) Dayus, Tyler (Jodi) Cook; and six great-grandchildren, Hannah Rhoads, Lucy Rush, Kasey, Brandie, Dillon Cook, and Korianna Dayus. He is also survived by two sistres, Dot Yarworth and Sylvia Christopher; and two sisters-in-law, Kate Rhoads and Anita Meeuwenberg; along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, February 15 at 11:00 a.m. with visitation one hour prior at The First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont, with Pastor Allen Petroelje officiating.
