Anna Hartel

It is with great sadness that we said goodbye to Anna Jane Hartel on Sunday, January 8th, 2023. Born February 26th, 1933 in Evansville, Indiana, she was the Daughter of Walter Austin, Raymond Bonn, and Genevieve Bonn (Matthews), Sister to Sandy Lee and Russ Austin, Wife of the late Charles Warrington Hartel, Mother to John Warrington Hartel and Peter Rowland Hartel, Mother In Law to Kathleen Ann Hartel (Freiman) and Martha Anne Shaifer-Hartel, Grandmother to Kaitlyn Kelly Verhulst (Hartel), Colin Warrington Hartel, Alexander Ethan Hartel, and Ellen Julianna Garchar (Shaifer-Hartel). Jane, as she as liked to be known, was a great Mom and Granny, loved to write, read, and traveled extensively around the country and around the world with Husband Charles. She worked as a youth activities coordinator for her church, as a stress management teacher, and as a docent, with Charles, for the Grand Rapids Public Museum. She had many, many friends around the country and around the world. She passed knowing that she was beloved by many and can now be at rest with no more pain and trouble. We all loved her dearly and will miss her, Jane will forever be in our hearts.
