BLOK- Mrs. Anna Blok, age 87, of Ada, passed away on Saturday February 23, 2019. She was preceded in death by her husband Bastian Blok, and her children Shirley Gridley and Gary Blok. Anna and her husband bought the family orchard in 1965. Many people knew her as the “Apple Lady,” which was a tribute to her hard work and dedication to help make Blok Orchard what it is today. Her family and faith were most important to her. Surviving are her children: Tina and Jim Holderman, Pam Blok, Dr. Barb Blok and Dr. AJ Montes, Alvin Blok; her grandchildren Rochel Gridley, Holle Gridley, Mallory Gridley, Cristen and Aaron McQuillan, Kelsey Holderman, Jason Blok, Abbie Blok, Sam Montes; two great grandchildren, sister-in-law Marie Nooteboom of the Netherlands, brothers and sisters-in-law: Hugo and Thelma Staal, Al and Mary Staal, Marinus and Connie Staal, her sisters and brother-in-law Dena and Milo Dewald, Pauline Spaans, Ginny Staal, and several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends may meet with her family on Tuesday, February 26, from 2-4 P.M. and 6-8 P.M. at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE and the funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 27th, at the chapel at 1:30 P.M.
