Althea DeVos

Althea Joan DeVos, aged 87, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 4, 2023.

She was born in the Summer of 1935 to the late Herman and Hilda Daling.

Along with her parents, Althea was preceded in death by her daughter Carol Sue Berens, great -granddaughter Ava Grace Nederveld and sisters Mary Ellen Daling and Kathleen Verbeek as well as by her former husband Peter DeVos.

She is survived by her children Sheryl and Gordon Nederveld, Douglas and Carol DeVos, Laurie Slagter, Pamela and Jeffrey Schrier, Mark and Kimberly DeVos and son-in-law Douglas Berens. Althea is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and other beloved family members.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday April 12, 2023, at her church that she loved, Little Farms Chapel, (2518 Arthur St E, Coopersville MI 49404), with Pastor Robert Van Manen officiating.

Her family will meet with loved ones and friends on Tuesday, April 11, 2023 from 5-8 PM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504), and again at Little Farms Chapel from 10-10:45 AM prior to the funeral service. Burial will be at Rosedale Cemetery. If one wishes, contributions in her memory may be made to Little Farms Chapel.
