His death was the result of a tragic accident. Alex is survived by his mother, Tonya Morgan, his father, Brendan Murphy, stepmother, Sarah Murphy and siblings, Jonathon Tait, Carman Vandergeld, Charlotte Murphy and Finnigan Murphy. Aunts and Uncles include Jenni and Earle McWright, Josh and Nicole Morgan, William and Becky Morgan, Rob and Reginna Maitner, Dave and Michele Maitner, Joel Maitner, and Rebecca and Andy Carlson. Grandparents include Cathy Abendroth, Max Morgan, John and Patricia Murphy, Tom and Deb Van Pelt.
Alex had a strong faith and love of Jesus, and loved helping those in need. He was a puzzle enthusiast, loved following the MSU Spartans, the Whitecaps and the Grand Rapids Griffins. He passed his love of Legos and Star Wars to his little siblings.
The service will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Heritage Life Services Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, located at 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Grand Rapids, MI 49504.
