Truus Loef

Mrs. Truus Loef [Oosterloo], age 94, of Grand Rapids, passed away in the comfort of her home and in the company of her family on January 8, 2022. Truus was born in the summer of 1927 in Assen, Netherlands to the late Aaldert and Aaltje Oosterloo. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Johannes, daughter Recella, granddaughter Monique and two son-in-laws Larry Halas and Wayne Mohn as well as by all of her five siblings. Surviving are her two daughters Yvonne Halas and Adriana Loef, grandchildren, Lisa Pelton, Mike Mohn and Brian Halas, 6 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews. Truus and her family moved to Grand Rapids from the Netherlands in 1957. She will be remembered for her passion for playing bingo, knitting, gardening and bowling. But most of all, Truus will be fondly remembered as a devoted a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial visitation will be held at Heritage Life Story Alt-Shawmut Funeral Home, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 from 6-8 PM.
