Age 48, passed away unexpectedly at his home, April 14, 2021. Tom was born August 21, 1972 in Grand Rapids to Tim Kirkwood and Bonnie Fischer. He will be remembered for his kindness, gentleness and dry sense of humor. Tom was a loving son and brother who loved his nieces and nephews very much. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Tim and Lolly Kirkwood; siblings, Timothy Kirkwood of Grand Rapids, Jackie (Joe) Zickus of Garland, TX, Jason Kirkwood of Grand Rapids; step-sisters, Beth (Jim) Czaban of Vienna, VA, Danielle (Jim) Hoeg of Chicago, IL, Kimberly Kozminski of Chicago, IL; nieces and nephews, Robert, Rachelle, Kory, Danielle, Devyn, Justin, Collin; step-nieces and nephews, Evelyn, Clara, Nicholas, Alyssa; and numerous aunts and uncles. Tom was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Bonnie Fischer and Tom Lowery. A funeral service will be held Saturday, April 17, 2021 at NOON at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Friends may visit with family beginning at 11 AM.
