Steve is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Kristen [Pataniczek], his son Elijah (Eli) and daughter Noelle as well as by his Father Robert B. (Kathy) Kaminski Sr., Brother Robert B. (Janet) Kaminski Jr., Sister Melissa (Sean) Donovan, In-laws Larry & Marijo Pataniczek, Brother-in-law Charlie (Christy) Pataniczek & Jake (Alexis) Pataniczek, Sister-in-law Holly (David) Damstra and Nieces & Nephew, Teresa, Sophie, Molly, Grace, Sarah, Jack, Bridget, Justin, Jessy, Jonah, Charlie, Quinn, and Emersyn. Steve was a proud graduate of both Creston High School and Grand Valley State University. He loved his job as a Sports Journalist for Mlive/Grand Rapids Press, having started working there at the age of 17. He was an avid lover of all things sports related especially NASCAR. Steve covered countless local school teams sports loving every minute of it, traveling with his family around the states to as many baseball stadiums and NASCAR events as they could during the summer months. He loved his family fiercely and was an active member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Steve selflessly donated a kidney to his late mother, Josephine, in 1995. A great man of faith, his family will be comforted knowing he is in Heaven watching over them. The service to remember and celebrate his life, officiated by Rev. Andrew Twietmeyer, will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11AM at Messiah Lutheran Church, (2727 Five Mile Rd. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525). Friends are invited to visit with his family on Thursday, December, 15, 2022 from 5-8 PM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Van Strien Chapel, (1833 Plainfield Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
