Shirlie Pipe

Shirlie Irene Pipe, age 99, passed away peacefully Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. Shirlie was born November 6, 1925 in Grand Rapids to the late William and Irene (Scherphorn) Dronkers. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Sidney Pipe; grandson, Scott Broekema Jr.; and sister and brother-in-law, Betty and Marvin Vanoeveren. Shirlie was a long time member of Aberdeen Reformed Church. She loved to sew, bowl, serve at church, and until recently continued crocheting blankets for the “old folks”. Most of all, Shirlie will be remembered for her love of family. She is survived by her children, Steven (Sandi) Broekema, Scott (Gail) Broekema, Sandra (Alan) Armstrong, Sharyl (Fred) Ream; grandchildren, Steven (Erin) Broekema, Sara (Joe) Leiter, Addie Broekema, Nathan (Shelby) Souza, Austin (Andrea) Ream, Aariad “Kelly” (Nathalia) Ream, Amanda (Michael) Gottschall; many great and great great grandchildren. According to her wishes, cremation has taken place. A private family interment will be held at Fairplains Cemetery in the spring.
