Jacobson, Ruth age 91, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother went to be with her Lord on September 4, 2020. Ruth was born June 2, 1929, the twelfth of 13 children to John & Anna Door on the family farm in Moline, Michigan. Ruth was preceded in death by her husband of 61 years, Paul Jacobson, her parents, five sisters, seven brothers and grand-daughter, Jodi Lynn Jacobson. She is survived by her children, Sally Rosbury (Bernard Gaines), of Sarasota, Florida, Kathie (Mark) Minnick, Kenneth (Gay) Jacobson, Richard (Diane) Jacobson, 11 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Joann Door, Pat Door and many nephews and nieces.

Ruth had a successful chain stitch embroidery business working with sporting goods stores in greater Grand Rapids for 35 years. She was so good at her craft she was eventually recruited to sew for the West Michigan Whitecaps, becoming one of their biggest fans. But Ruth considered her most important work volunteering at the Christian Rest Home (now Edison Christian Life Services) where she visited with and read to the residents.

Ruth was an active member of the First Evangelical Covenant Church since joining in 1949. She loved the Lord, her family, church family and her many friends. Ruth’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Ritzema Hall staff at Edison Christian Life Services for the wonderful compassionate care Ruth received these past 18 months. Memorial contributions may be made to Edison Christian Life Services or First Evangelical Covenant Church. Due to Covid, private funeral services will be held with interment at Rosedale Memorial Park.
