Roel Maartense

Maartense, Roel age 88, passed away May 15, 2023 at home with his loving wife of 55 years by his side. Roel was born November 4, 1934 in Den Haag, the Netherlands to the late Jan and Adrianna (de Korte) Maartense. He was also preceded in death by his son, Michael Maartense; son-in-law, Ed Tudor; and siblings, Jan, Ben, Elly, Ed, and Taco Maartense. Roel is survived by his wife, Johanna Maartense; children, Debbie (Steve) Wilberding along with their children, Katie and Emma; John Maartense and his children, Molly, Claire, Laura, Isaac, Julia and James; Lisa Tudor and her children, Owen, Joey and Charlie; daughter-in-law, Pam Maartense and her children, Caleb, Grace, Micah and Abigail. He is also survived by his siblings, Wim, Lenie, Piet, Eef, Leo, Sita, Ria Maartense; in-laws, Case and Sue Van Kempen, Nella Kosiara; and many nieces and nephews both here and in the Netherlands. Roel was a member of Free Reformed Church. A private family service will be held. Interment will be in Georgetown Township Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Puritan Reformed Seminary.
