Robert or as he was known by his friends “Bob” , was a much loved son, nephew, cousin and good friend ; who was taken too soon from this world. Robert passed suddenly on the 1st August 2020 at his apartment in Michigan . He was raised in Forest Hills , New York and he went to Forest Hills High school. He also studied at CUNY Queens College . Bob worked at Cunard line , he also held jobs in administration and hospitality. His passion in life was pool and playing golf , indeed he helped many people with their game . He was a published author , and he wrote a book entitled ,” Painting on green canvas”, a story around a game of pool which had a number of life lessons . The book touched many people ,and had great reviews . As a young boy he spent summers in Belfast with his mum and dad and his family have lovely memories of happy times with him , as do his extended family. After his father passed, he came to live in Belfast, but there were too many memories of his parents and he returned to New York for a short time, before deciding to move to Michigan . He wanted a slower pace of life , and to spend more time playing his beloved golf and pool. Robert read widely and enjoyed talking to people, but he had a big heart and always tried to help people . He was a larger than life character , and spoke his mind . He liked like to philosophise about life and search for its its meaning. Robert always found a different way of looking at life , he wasn’t afraid to laugh at the lessons it gave him. Bob had a great sense of humour and was a unique person with a vast talent. He will be greatly missed, he was loved by so many. Now at peace with his beloved mother and father.
