Richard Maze

Richard Lynn Maze passed away at his home on December 17, 2023. Richard lived most of his life on the West Side of Grand Rapids. He earned the honor of becoming an Eagle Scout with the Ad Altare Dei emblem and later became a scout master. Richard later founded and operated A & T Tire Company in Standale. But his passion in life was fishing, hunting, donuts, and spending time talking with friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Cecilia Maze as well as his sisters and brothers.

He is survived by his daughters, Cristen (Mervin) Tapiador and Jennifer (Greg) Piscopink; grandchildren Gregory III and Lauren Piscopink, Lillian Tapiador; very special nephew, Timothy Maze as well as numerous other nieces and nephews; and his longtime good friends, the Helen Shemanski Family.

The service to remember and celebrate Richard’s life will be held on Friday, December 22 at 10 AM at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW. Friends are invited to visit with his family at the funeral home on Thursday, from 6-8 PM. Interment in Holy Cross Cemetery.
