Life Story / Obituary

Print

Nancy Marsman (Meyering), age 70, of Marne, MI entered her heavenly home on Thursday March 19, 2026 with her loving and caring family by her side. She was born on October 10, 1955 to Gordon and Rolina Meyering.

Nancy graduated from Kenowa Hills High School in 1973 and married the love of her life, Craig, at the age of 18. Their first home was in Grand Rapids where they began their family and they eventually settled in their farmhouse in Marne, MI. Nancy was a devoted wife and mother and selflessly did in-home daycare for other families in order to stay home with her own children. Her home quickly became a safe haven for all of the neighborhood kids because she was the epitome of what a mother should be. She had countless "bonus kids" who referred to her as a second mother even into their adult life and anyone visiting her always knew they'd never go hungry. As her own children grew, she worked for Edison Manor and finished her working career as a lunch lady for Kenowa Hills Public schools where she retired after many years.

Nancy was a Godly woman who's deep faith encouraged many others to have a stronger connection with the Lord. She was a loyal member of Little Farms Chapel in Coopersville, MI for the last 34 years. She enjoyed swimming, bicycling, gardening, horses, playing cards and most of all, spending time with her large family and beloved friends. Some of her most treasured moments with her family included camping, boating, golf cart riding and being surrounded by nature. Her presence will be sorely missed here on earth but we are grateful to know that we will meet again.

Nancy was preceded in death by many family members and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 52 years Craig, her children Linda (Dale) VanOost, Paul (Sarah) Marsman, Rhonda (Dave) Ellis, Laura (Ryan) Ford, John (Sarah) Marsman; fifteen grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Nancy also leaves behind her siblings Donald (Donna) Meyering, Robert (Linda) Meyering, Evelyn (Steve) Loosenort; brothers in law Merle (Mavis) Marsman, Russell (d.) (Jan) Marsman, Timothy (Beth) Marsman, Daniel (Kristie) Marsman, and sister in law Doloris Marsman; as well as many nieces, nephews and special friends.

Nancy’s family will receive visitors on Tuesday March 24, 2026 from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8pm at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, 2120 Lake Michigan Drive, NW Grand Rapids MI, 40504.

A service to remember and celebrate Nancy’s life will be held on Saturday April, 4 2026 at Little Farms Chapel, 2518 Arthur St E, Coopersville, MI 49404 at 11:00 AM, with a time of reception following
