Michael Lee Mojzak

Michael Lee Mojzak passed away peacefully surrounded by friends and family on February 17, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. He was born on November 23,1950 as a lifelong West Sider. Mike was a proud graduate of the best West Catholic class of 1968. After serving in the U.S. Air Force he returned to Grand Rapids where he met his wife of almost 50 years Barbara Penninga at GRCC before going to complete his degree at Grand Valley State. Mike was blessed with a life full of wonderful coworkers turned family at Watkins Ross and friends turned family at the White Lake Yacht Club. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a father to his strong three daughters Michelle (John Housenga), Andrea (Andrew Dempsey), and Kathleen (Ian Preppernau) He loved all animals but especially his dog, Vada, and cats Steve & Charlie, however many pets benefited from his treat-giving nature. Mike is survived by his brothers Dan (Marg) and Greg Mojzak, siblings-in-law Mary Ann (William)Yuncker, Thomas (Kay) Penninga, and Robert (Susan) Penninga, grandchildren Thijs, Elizabeth, Margaret, and Katherine, and many nieces and nephews both by blood and honorary. A true Mojzak feast in his honor will be arranged when the weather makes the Jimmy Buffett music flow.
