Life Story / Obituary
Maxine Schut returned to the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on Sunday,
December 6, 2020. She was the second of three daughters born to John and
Nellie Hop in 1926. Maxine Hop and Larry Schut were married in 1948 and were
married for forty-seven years until Larry’s passing in 1995. Together they raised
four children: Ron and Sue Schut, Sherri and Ron Tibbe, Lori and Dan Kowalewski,
Bob and Lynda Schut. A true joy in Maxine’s life was being blessed with eight
very special grandchildren and eleven precious great grandchildren. Grandma
Schut took particular pride and interest in all their lives. Special memories of
Maxine are shared by her extended family, nieces, nephews, many friends,
neighbors and in her later years her family at Edison Christian Independent Living.
Maxine was a loving daughter, dear sister, devoted wife, wonderful mother,
caring friend and the best grandmother anyone could hope for. She will always be
remembered as praying for her family. Our family has truly been blessed by a
loving Christian Mother. Her family will gather for a private graveside service with
her Pastor, Rev. Lloyd Hemstreet from her church, Coopersville Christian Reformed
where she was a lifelong member. Maxine will be laid to rest next to her husband Larry
in the Coopersville Cemetery. The Schut Family wishes to thank the staff of Edison Christian,
Covenant Living as well as Faith Hospice for their compassionate care for Maxine and her
family.
