Life Story / Obituary
Marian J. Grant, aged 98, of Grand Rapids, went to be with her Lord and Savior on February 19, 2023. She was born on September 8, 1924 to Nicholas and Hannah Rodenhouse. She was a graduate of Grand Rapids Christian School and Kendall College of Art and Design. Marian worked as a fashion and product illustrator at Herpolsheimer’s department store for many years and was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas; and sisters and brother. Marian is survived by her children, Tom Grant, Jennifer Weyhmiller, and Kathy and Doug Geenen; grandchildren, Christen and Chris Levine, Abigail Grant, Britta Grant, Matthew Weyhmiller, James Weyhmiller, Elisabeth Geenen, Joe Geenen, and Emma and Jonathan Redeker; and great-grandchildren, Payton, Jack and Izzy Levine. Also surviving are her sisters-in-law, Barbara Vander Laan and Marilyn Grant; and many nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the staff of Waterford Place and Faith Hospice for the compassionate and loving care shown to Marian. The Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 PM on Tuesday, February 28, 2023 in the chapel at Waterford Place (entrance V), 1725 Port Sheldon St, Georgetown Twp. Friends are invited to meet with her family for one hour prior to the service. Interment in Rosedale Memorial Park.
