She was born in the Fall of 1929 to the late Gerrit and Margaretha Huizenga. Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Peter Feenstra who passed away in 1999 as well as by her sisters, Truss (John) Huizenga and Grace (John) Wisse and her brother Louis Huizenga. She is survived by her three daughters, Mary (John) Van Suilichem, Laura (Mark) VanderZouwen and Gale (Jim) Steensma; grandchildren Brian (Abbey) Van Suilichem, Beckie (Adam) Russ, Adam VanderZouwen, Amanda (Michael) Walma, Zachary (Tara) Steensma and Jessica Steensma as well as by great-grandchildren Lila, Ashlee, Addison, Carly, Colton, Anika and Deegan. Margaret was born in Chicago, IL but her family migrated to the Netherlands when she was just one years old. She would grow up on her family’s farm until 1948 when at the age of 18 she and her sister Grace would return to America, settling in Grand Rapids. It was in Grand Rapids she would meet her husband Pete Feenstra and they would start a family. Margaret will be fondly remembered as a warm, quiet woman who was devoted to her family and church. She enjoyed studying God’s word, gardening and her beloved grand and great-grandchildren. Funeral services officiated by Pastor James Wells, will be held on Friday December 2, 2022, at 11 AM at Highland Hills Baptist Church, (1415 Northrup NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504).
