Marcus Emanuel Calvillo defied expectations and was born into the arms of his parents on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at 2:37 p.m. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He measured 20 inches long and weighed 7 pounds, 8 ounces. He had his mama’s strawberry blonde hair and his daddy’s cheeks. Upon his birth Marcus Emanuel was baptized and he spent 45 peaceful minutes in the arms of his parents before his heart stopped beating and he was called home to heaven.
Although his time was brief, Marcus left a profound impact by unifying loved ones and offering healing to those who encountered him. His parents pray that Marcus Emanuel will continue to be a bearer of peace as his name implies.

Marcus is survived by his parents Joe and Mandy Calvillo; his brother, Silas, his grandparents Joe and Belinda Calvillo, Sally Forslund, and Blake (Carla) Forslund; his aunts and uncles Tina Calvillo, Blake (Ambre) Forslund, Hillary (David) Davis; and his cousins.
The Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Saturday July 9, 2022 at 11:00 AM at St. Luke University Parish, 10144 42nd Ave, Georgetown Twp, MI 49428. Friends and relatives may visit with the family on Saturday from 10:00 AM until the time of Mass at 11:00 AM. Interment will take place at Port Sheldon Township Cemetery, 16232 Stanton St, West Olive, MI 49460.
