Lois Rottschafer

Age 84, passed away to her heavenly home January 3, 2022. Lois was born April 5, 1937 in Grand Rapids to the late Maxwell and Lucille (Slenker) Whalen. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Jim Rottschafer; her son, Kenneth John Rottschafer; and her brother Richard Whalen. Lois was a longtime member of Blythefield Christian Reformed Church, and will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly (Kerwin) Keen of Grand Rapids; granddaughters, Kathryn (Derek) Stone of Madison, AL, Kelly (Joel) Harkema of Livonia; brother, Ronald (Arlene) Whalen of Chippewa Lake; sister, Neola Dykstra of Rockford; in-laws, Ruth Peterson of Jenison, Arlene Kemink of Hessel, Eleanor Slabbekoorn of Grand Rapids, Donna (Jerry) Roelofs of Byron Center; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 9, 2022 at 3 PM at Blythefield CRC, 6350 Kuttshill Dr NE. Visitation will begin at 1:15 PM. Interment will be in Blythefield Memory Gardens.
