Laurence A. VanBennekom, "Larry", aged 85, of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away peacefully, with his daughters by his side on Sunday, September 14, 2025.
Larry was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the Spring of 1940 to the late Adrian and Harriett VanBennekom.
Along with his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Sharon [Nolan] VanBennekom and his siblings, Peggy Bouma, Betty Ann Looman and Jackie VanBennekom.
Larry will be dearly missed by his son Larry VanBennekom and two daughters Brenda (Scott) Lubbers and Kimberly (Bob) McCambridge.
Also surviving are his grandchildren, Dustin Styburski, Kyle (Juanita) McCambridge, Nicholas (Samantha Marvin) Lubbers and Jason Lubbers; great-grandchildren, Emmalynn and Oliver Lubbers and Vanessa Scribner-Talamantez; sister Patricia (Jerry) Duffield, brother Roger (Val) “Johnnie” VanBennekom; In-laws: Diana (Dan) DeKorte, Wayne (Linda) Forsythe and Dale (Anita) Forsythe and many cousins, nieces, nephews, and dear family friend Ruth Melendez.

Larry will be laid to rest with Sharon at Rosedale Memorial Park.
