John A. Opacki, age 71, passed away on Sunday, December 3, 2023. John was born in Grand Rapids, MI in the fall of 1952 to the late Walter J. and Estelle T. [Stasiak] Opacki. He is survived by his siblings,Tom Opacki, Paul (Jennifer) Opacki, Janice (Bernard) Stanko, Nancy Opacki, Tim Opacki and several nieces and nephews. John was 1970 graduate of West Catholic High School and a retiree from the Steelcase Corporation, Furniture Wood Plant. A memorial service has been scheduled to take place at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at 6:30 PM. Interment will take place near family in Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery.
