Mrs. Joanne Van Den Toorn, age 91 of Grand Rapids, passed away on January 9, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband, William; her brothers Dick, John and Rev. Peter Bazen. Joanne is survived by her children Ben (Wanda) Van Den Toorn, Andy (Cindy) Van Den Toorn, Marlene (Bob) Bibby, Bill (Laurie) Van Den Toorn and Chuck Van Den Toorn; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; brothers and sisters Marinus Bazen, Marie (Jim) Rosendall, Gertrude (Henry) Rosendall, Jim (Barb) Bazen; sisters-in-law Edith Bazen, Marge Bazen, Helen Oudendyk, Annette Vander Toorn, and Marge Van Den Toorn as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 14, 2020 at 11 AM at the First Netherlands Reformed Congregation, 1261 Beckwith Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505 with Rev. G.M. de Leeuw officiating. Relatives and friends are invited to meet with her family at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Van Strien Creston Chapel, 1833 Plainfield NE on Monday from 5-8 PM.
