Joan Opaski

Joan Marie Opaski, age 74, of Grand Rapids, went to be with our Lord and Savior on Sunday, Dec. 29, 2019. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI in the spring of 1945 to Raymond and Frances Kline. Joan is survived by her husband of 43 years, Gerard J. Opaski and their two children Jennifer (Matthew) Maciag and Joseph (Jordan) Opaski; 3 grandchildren Gabriel, Caleb and Audrey Maciag; siblings Tom (Betty) Kline, Joe Kline and Fred (Kathy) Kline; 2 nieces Ellen (Patrick) Horn and Emily (Matthew) Kline-Majzlik. The Mass of Christian Burial will be on Monday, Jan. 6, 2020 at 11am at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church, (224 Carrier St NE Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Relatives and friends may visit with family at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes, Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW Grand Rapids, MI 49504) on Sunday Jan. 5, 2020 from 2-4pm and from 6-8pm with a rosary at 7:30pm. An additional hour of visitation will be available for one hour prior to the service at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church beginning at 10am.
