Life Story / Obituary
Jimmy Ray Burton, “Jimmie”, age 77, died on Tuesday, March 30, 2021.
He was born on January 24, 1944 in Grand Rapids, Michigan to the late William and Mary Burton.
Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Jacklyn Burton, brothers Renee Burton, Richard Burton, and sister, Connie (Burton) Stoner.
Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife of 24 years, Deborah (Barrett) Burton and their children, Tammy (Nate) McCarty, Michelle Burton, Brian Burton, Kim (Joe) Drabik, Todd Burton and sisters, Margo (Pat) Perry and Diane (Lance) Timmer.
Grandchildren are Michael McCarty (fiancé Ashlee Holliday), Jessica and Chandler Reppert, Tiffany Vaughan, Curtiss (Stephanie) McCarty, Nickolas Burton, Ryan Burton (Rachel Cooper), and Joey Drabik (Annika DeRidder).
Great grandchildren are Alexis McCarty, Abrielle Vaughan, Nate McCarty, Maxwell McCarty, Jacklyn McCarty, Kassidy McCarty, Lincoln McCarty, Candyn Holliday, Isaac Reppert, Charlee Jo Holliday and Levi Reppert.
Jimmy enjoyed a long and fulfilling career as a master electrician who loved teaching others the electrical trade. He showed his passion of music, hosting as a D.J. at a variety of celebrations.
He had been an active member of Catholic Central’s 1962 Reunion Committee. He enjoyed music and dancing and was a “Foodie” before it was a thing. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his large family.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11 a.m. at Bella Vista Church (5100 Belding Road, Rockford MI 49341). Family and friends are invited to a luncheon at the church directly after the memorial.

Jim will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery.
