Jerome Duwayne Patton, age 82, of Grand Rapids, MI gained his wings on Tuesday, August 30th 2022 while surrounded by his family. He was born in Wisconsin in the spring of 1940 and grew up in Mancelona, MI with many brothers and sisters. He met the love of his life on March 10th, 1957 and moved to Grand Rapids shortly after. Jerry was preceded in death by his beloved ‘honey bunny’, wife and best friend of 60 years, Sandy Patton, his fun spirited grandson Patrick Murphy, and many other beloved family members. He is survived by his two daughters Karen Williams and Kathy (Chris) Lesky; grandchildren J.J. (D'Ann) Murphy, Megan Tabor, Taylor (Michael) Carey, Ana, Jon Lesky; fifteen great- grandchildren; God-daughter Kelly Kuzawa; several other nieces and nephews, and his siblings Margarete Patton , Roger Patton, Char (Bill) Struik, Frank (Bonnie) Patton. Jerry was such a goofy, generous, dependable and honest man. Anyone who knew Jerry knew how hardworking he was and proud to be a plumber. Even after retirement though Jerry never sat still, he was always known as “Mr. Fix it”. He enjoyed summers camping with friends and family at Lincoln Pines, working the ‘pop wagon’ alongside his ‘Polish Girl’, Sandy, Jif peanut butter, the casino, classic country music, many vacations, and most importantly spending time with their beloved family. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with Jerry’s family at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home (2021 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504) Friday September 2nd 2022, at 10AM. Funeral services have been scheduled to take place at the funeral home following the visitation beginning at 12 PM. Luncheon to follow.
