James Ambler

Mr. James O. Ambler, age 72, formerly of Croton, MI, passed away on January 30, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife, Virginia Ambler; sisters, Vonda and Carol; brother, Chuck; and his parents, John and Mildred Ambler. James is survived by his daughter, Donna Ambler; son, William Sims; grandchildren, David Ambler, Ryan (Yolanda) Ambler, Joseph Sims, Brendan O'Dell-Sims, Andrea O’Dell, Madeline Engstrom and Olivia Engstrom; and great-granddaughter, Ever Ambler. Also surviving are his siblings, Albert (Diane) Ambler, John (Peggy) Ambler and Robin (Tom) Bates; brother-in-law, Charles (Rebecca) Sims; sister-in-law, Christina (Juan) Trotter; and best friends, Paul Drouin and Pam (Jerry) Curtis. James was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He enjoyed watching sports, especially his Red Wings. But mostly he enjoyed spending time fishing, “fishing was life.” A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Rosedale Memorial Park.
