Jackie Dykhuizen

Jacquelyn Lota Houtstra Dykhuizen, age 93, entered her heavenly home October 25, 2026. Jackie was born September 12, 1933 in Grand Rapids. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Norman Houtstra and Alvin Dykhuizen. Jackie was a longtime member of Westend Christian Reformed Church and was involved in many of the ministries over the years. She loved taking pictures of family and events, tending to her flower garden, camping with family and traveling with her husbands, but most of all, she loved being a grandma. Jackie is survived by her children, Ronald Houtstra, Sharon (Ron) DeWinter, Richard (Toni) Houtstra; step-children, Ellen Wierenga, Beth Burke, Barb Dadswell; grandchildren, Rebecca (Geoff) Stein, Allison Houtstra, Jonathan Houtstra, Amanda Houtstra, Anita (Tyler) Buitenwerf, Amy (Luis Felipe) Perez-Costa, Kim (Kevin) Anderson, Tom (Rebecca) Burke, Nick Dadswell, Zak Dadswell; great grandchildren, Braylee, Ian, Leah, Elias, Clara, Lindsey, Tyler, Zachary, Liam, Layla, and Luka. She is also survived by her brothers, George (Jeanne) Stanley and Frank (Jodi) Stanley; and several nieces and nephews. In accordance with her wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held Friday, October 30, 2026 at 11am at Westend Christian Reformed Church, 1015 Westend Avenue NW 49504. Friends may visit with her family beginning at 10am. Interment will be in Washington Park Memorial Gardens.
