Jack Michael Rakoczy

Jack M. Rakoczy, aged 95, of Grand Rapids, passed away on Monday, January 27, 2020. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Lorraine Rakoczy (Sadlowski); his son Gerald (Jean) Rakoczy; niece, Sharon (Andy) Fay; many cousins and friends. Jack honorably served his country in the US Army during World War II, serving in China, Burma and India. He was Golden Gloves Boxing Champion. He was a member of; American Legion Post #356, St. Ladislaus Aid Society, and Sacred Heart Aid Society. He retired from DTE energy where he worked for 37 years. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Sacred Heart of Jesus Catholic Church, 156 Valley Ave. SW, on Friday, January 31, at 11:00 am with visitation at the church from 10:00 am until Mass begins. Entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery. Contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of your choice.
