Harold J. VandeKopple age 84, of Grand Rapids, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 17, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents, Abe and Reka VandeKopple; son-in-law, James William Joseph Landry; brother, Roger (Wilma) VandeKopple; and sister, Ruth (Bob) Knott. Harold will be remembered as a loving and faithful husband, father, and grandfather to his family. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Janet (Kunz) VandeKopple; daughter, Denise (Kevin Payne) Landry; granddaughters, Victoria Brooke Landry and Allison Lynn Landry; sister-in-law, Marian (Jim) DeVries; many nieces, nephews and cousins. The Funeral Service will take place at 11 AM on Friday, August 20, 2021 at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW. Family will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of the service. Interment in Washington Park Memorial Gardens. Contributions in his memory may be made to West Side Christian School or Walker United Reformed Church.
