Gundars "Mike" Miske

Mike Miske, age 85, of Grand Rapids, passed away on the first day of 2025. Born in Riga, Latvia to Janis and Elvira Miske, he was the 4th of 5 children. Mike graduated from South High School and attended Grand Rapids Community College and the University of Michigan. Mike’s most cherished interests included reading and traveling: two life-long passions. His favorite quote was from JRR Tolkien, “Not all who wander are lost.” Mike is survived by his wife of 59 1/2 years, Abigail Truog Miske; his son, Michael; daughter-in-law, Coco; and his two beloved grandsons. He was preceded In death by his daughter, Suzanne Abigail Miske, and three of his sisters: Vija, Velga, and Gunta. A special thank you to the staff at Leffingwell and Hospice for the wonderful care given to Mike during his final days. He was loved, and will be missed. A private goodbye and cremation has already taken place.
