Eleanor Beeney

Eleanor R. Beeney of Grand Rapids, MI passed away peacefully on Saturday October 29, 2022.

She was born in Grand Rapids, MI in February of 1937 to the late Albert and Ruth Wildeboer.

Along with her parents, Eleanor is preceded in death by her son Russell who died in 1979, her first husband Jack Funk, who passed away in 1992 and her second husband Lester Beeney who died in 2020.

She is survived by her daughter Renee Scheele, son Richard (Connie) Funk and daughter Linda (Jim) Byington as well as by her 5 grandchildren: Carl (Emily), Richard (Oksana), Elizabeth, Calli, Lee and 2 great-grandchildren: Mason and Sonja.

Eleanor had been an active member of Oakview Community Church and was a committed employee of Old Kent, 5/3 Bank-Creston Branch until her retirement. After retirement, Eleanor continued contributing professionally with her work as receptionist at the Holland Home, Fulton Manor.

Funeral services will take place on Saturday November 5, 2022 at Oakview Community Church, (4242 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525), beginning at 12 Noon. Visitation will take place prior to the service at church beginning at 10:00 AM.

Eleanor’s Graveside service is forthcoming when she will be laid to rest next to Jack and Russell in Fairplains Cemetery in Grand Rapids, MI.
