Edward Lee Trojanek, aged 96, of Grand Rapids passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 29, 2020. He was born in Antrim County, MI in 1924 to the late Lewis and Bernice Trojanek. Along with his parents, Ed is preceded in death by wife Elgean L. [Reece] who passed away in 1972 and a grandson Brian Rush as well as by his brothers Floyd, William, Donald and Gaius Trojanek. Ed is survived by his children Donna (John) Roberts, Larry (Vivian) Reyers and Sandy (Dan) Whipple as well as by grandchildren Chad, Renae, Debbie, Brenda, Dawn, Dan Jr. and Debi and many great and great-great-grandchildren. Ed was raised and worked on the family farm and attended Settlement School, a one room schoolhouse, in Antrim County then graduated from East Jordon High School before joining the Navy in 1942. He proudly served his country in World War 2 until 1946. When he returned from the war, he married Elgean in 1949 in Grand Rapids. He retired after years of working as a fabrication welder. Ed enjoyed nature, the outdoors, gardening, taking walks through woods and fields and just relaxing with the warm sun shinning on his face. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at 12 noon at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, Alt Shawmut Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). Relatives and friends are invited to meet with the family at the funeral home prior to the funeral service from 11 AM to 12 noon.
