Doris Bierens

Doris M. Bierens, aged 94, of Grand Rapids, MI passed away in the company of her family on Monday February 17, 2020. She was born in Grand Rapids, MI in the Summer of 1925 to the late Martin and Johanna Van Belzen. Along with her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years Anton, her grandson Joel Bierens, great granddaughter Melody and by her younger sister Joan Van Belzen. Doris is survived by her children, Jane and Jim Ter Horst, Tony and Deborah Bierens, Mary and Len Schebil, Jim and Kathy Bierens, Bob and Brenda Bierens as well as by her many grand and great grandchildren. Doris had been a dedicated member of Beckwith Hills Christian Reformed Church. A service to remember and celebrate Doris’ life will be held on Monday, February 24, 2020 starting at 11 AM at the Heritage Life Story Funeral Home – Van Strien Creston Chapel, (1833 Plainfield Ave NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505). Friends may visit with her family from 10 AM until the time of the service. Doris will be laid to rest next to Anton in Fairplains Cemetery.
