Donna Blandford-Durant

Donna Faye Blandford-Durant of Grand Rapids, MI, passed away in the comfort of her home and in the company of her family on Sunday, March 19, 2023.

She was born in Grand Rapids in the Fall of 1931 to the late Delbert and Viola Koon.

Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands Benjamin Blandford and James Durant as well as by her sisters Joyce Koon, Ilene Sedal and brothers Darrell, David and Ross Koon.

Donna is survived by her children Mike Koon, Marcy Price and Becky Kuter; grandchildren Jason Koon, Erin Koon, Bill (Darcy) Price, Miranda (Kenneth) De Long, Opal Douglas and Richie Scott and 5 great-grandchildren as well as by her brothers Arden and Eldon Koon and sisters Violet Pulaski and Elaine Light.

Donna had been an active member of North Park Presbyterian Church. She will be fondly remembered for her passion for ballroom and tap dancing.

Later in life Donna spent winters in Florida in her home at the Del Tura Golf & Country Club where she made countless dear friends.

Donna’s funeral service has been scheduled for Saturday, March 25, 2023 at 11:00 AM at North Park Presbyterian Church, (500 N Park St NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49525). Friends may visit with family prior to the service at church beginning at 10:00 AM.

She will be laid to rest in Blythefield Memory Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of West Michigan, (3077 Wilson Dr. NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49534).

Donna’s family would like to extend a special thanks to caregiver Delores Newell and the rest of the staff at Interim Hospice for the compassionate and attentive care bestowed upon Donna.
