Donald Brewer Jr.

Donald L. Brewer Jr., of Grand Rapids, Michigan passed away on September 17, 2025, with his family by his side. Don was preceded in death by his parents, his son, Mark Brewer; his siblings, Kurt, Mitch, Bryan Sr, and Tena; his sister-in-law, Linda Raterink, and lifelong best friend, Dan Cimoch. Don is survived by his wife, Nancy Brewer; his children, David (Stephanie) Brewer, Patty Matthysse, Jason (Stacey Baron) DeBruyn; his grandchildren, Isabella, Miles, Liam, Leah, Breanna, and Jackson. Don also leaves behind his brother-in-law, Joe Raterink, as well as several special nieces and nephews and many friends. Don was born and raised in Grand Rapids and will be well remembered for his many years of building custom homes with both Bolt and Hunefeld Builders, Inc., and later, Don Brewer Builders. Don was an avid bowler and was on many softball teams throughout his life. Don gave back to his community through service to Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, coaching, Santa Claus Girls and Relay for Life. A graveside service will be held at Washington Park Memorial Gardens, 1205 Richmond St. NW 49504, on Wednesday, September 24 at 11:00 AM. A celebration of life will be held by Don’s family at a later time. Memorial gifts in Don’s honor may be directed to Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital.
