David "Kevin" Dumont

David “Kevin” Dumont age 55 of Grand Rapids passed away on October 13, 2022. Kevin grew up in Newaygo, MI. Kevin was quite the charmer even in elementary school. In High School he was a standout track field. He broke the record for 110 M high hurdles in 1985. It was the longest standing record at NHS and only broken just recently. He made The Who’s who list for MI athletics and attended Central Michigan University on a track scholarship. He was also a musician, song writer and poet. He loved his music. He was married to the love of his life Becky for 25 years. They first moved to Nashville, TN, then returned to the Grand Rapids area. Kevin was a respected Plant Manager at G-M Wood Products and managed the business, G-M Graphics, until his final days. He shared an incredible, mutual devotion with his team. He was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge of Rockford, where part of his Masonic duties involved charitable causes. Kevin became committed to serving others by donating to causes promoting self-worth and helping others. He loved his family. He is preceded in death by his mother Patricia Ann Dumont. Kevin is survived by his beloved wife Becky Dumont of 25 years, father David Dumont, mother-in-law Shirley Kloet and siblings Pam (Nick) Staub, Tim (Sonya) Dumont, Also nieces and nephews Anna, Aaron, Alysa, Alex and Adam Dumont. Included also are many loving Aunts, Uncles and cousins. Special devoted friends include Kevin(Ginger) Karrip, and their children Sejeon (Kayta) Karrip, Najia Karrip, Siraj Karrip, Kohlby Hasselman, Jessie Stout and Jordan Stout. The family will receive visitors from 2-4 pm followed by a brief service on Monday Oct 24th at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home, 1833 Plainfield Ave NE. Grand Rapids MI.
