Danne Mae Bissard passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Tuesday, November 15, 2022 while in the company of her husband of 66 years David and her family.

She was born in March of 1934 to the late Joseph and Eugenia Spinski in Grand Rapids, MI. Along with her parents, Danne Mae is preceded in death by her granddaughter Nikki, sister and brother-in law Dolly (Norman) Bissard and brother-in-law Mike Hoekstra.

Along with her husband David, Danne Mae is survived by her children: Mari Jo (Dan) Thompson, Jeannie (John) Wolbert, Kathy (John) Hawkins and John (Debbie) Bissard; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her sister, Bonnie Hoekstra as well as her loving nurse, Molly.

Danne Mae was a dedicated parishioner of Saint Anthony of Padua Catholic Church and an active member and past President of the Polish Falcons Ladies Auxiliary. She was also on the Pulaski Day Planning Committee. She had volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital and served 25 plus years in the Kent County Court House in the Victim Witness Program.

Mass of Christian burial will be held on Friday, November 18, 2022, at 11:00 AM at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, (2510 Richmond St NW, Grand Rapids, MI 49504). Friends are invited to visit with family at Heritage Life Story Funeral Home on Thursday, November 17 from 4-7 PM, with Rosary at 6:30pm. Visitation will also take place one hour prior to the funeral at the church, starting at 10:00 AM.

Burial will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Northwest Michigan Chapter, (2944 Fuller Ave. NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49505).
