Dale Steven Hapner, age 90, of Standale, Michigan passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 2, 2025.

He was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan on November 11, 1934 to the late Clarence and Anna [DeFouw].

Along with his parents he is preceded in death by his sister Marilyn June and his brother David Hapner.

Dale is survived by his wife of 65 years, Bernadette, “Bernie” [Dzienis] Hapner and their two children, Robert Dale Hapner and Jeanne (Ken) Baker Coonrod as well as by two grandchildren, Ryan (Annie) Baker and Jennifer Baker and great-grandchildren, Grace, Jacob, Luke, Nolan and Madisyn. Also surviving are his sister Bonnie (Al) Boylan, sister-in-laws Sue Hapner and Alicia Laansma and several nieces and nephews.

Dale had proudly served his country in the U.S. Army and owned and operated C&D Motor Sales in Grand Rapids for many years.

A service, with military honors, to celebrate Dale’s life will be held on Thursday, February 6, 2025 at 12:00 noon at Heritage Life Story Funeral Homes – Alt & Shawmut Hills Chapel, (2120 Lake Michigan Drive NW, Grand Rapids, Michigan 49504), where relatives and friends can visit with his family prior starting at 11:00 AM until the service time. Dale will be laid to rest in Resurrection Cemetery in Wyoming, Michigan.
